### Assumptions and included deductions

These notes apply to the last calculated result. Displayed pay-period amounts are annual averages, not payroll withholding.

- Income tax is an annual amount to budget for. It is not a monthly salary deduction. IRAS payment dates and GIRO instalments can differ.
- CPF uses 2026 monthly rules. Employee cents are dropped each month. Fractional monthly wages use the exact annual split, so actual payslips can differ.
- Earned Income Relief is S$1000.00. Chargeable income after this relief and employee CPF Relief is S$47000.00.
- No other personal reliefs, rebates or self-help group deductions are included.
- The annual salary is paid in 12 equal monthly amounts with no bonus.

#### Who can use this estimate

- Full-year Singapore tax resident with one private-sector job, paid in Singapore dollars.
- Singapore citizen or permanent resident in the third year or later for all of 2026, at full CPF rates.
- One listed age range for the whole year, with ordinary Earned Income Relief and compulsory employee CPF Relief.
- Equal monthly Ordinary Wages, with either no bonus or one equal December Additional Wage payment.
- 2026 earnings assessed in YA 2027 using the rules published on 9 September 2026.

#### What is not included

- Non-residents, foreign employees without CPF, first- and second-year permanent residents, and changes in status.
- Age 55, 60, 65 or 70, changes across a listed age range, disability relief and pensionable public-sector work.
- Other income, multiple jobs, self-employment, directors, overseas work and part-year employment.
- Other bonuses, irregular pay, benefits in kind, salary sacrifice, voluntary CPF and SRS contributions.
- NSman relief, family reliefs, donations, expenses, Parenthood Tax Rebate and other personal claims.
- Self-help group deductions, union fees, government cash benefits and exact IRAS bill rounding.

### Help with the calculator options

Your age throughout the income year

Use this estimate only if you stay within one listed age range for all of 2026. Age 55, 60, 65 or 70 and years that cross a listed range are excluded.

How is your annual pay split?

Enter total annual cash pay, including the bonus. The bonus option divides that total into 13 equal amounts: 12 monthly salaries and one December bonus. Other bonus amounts and dates are excluded. Monthly input is the annual total divided by 12.

## Your guide to salary after tax in Singapore

Guide tax year 2026 income (YA 2027). The result above uses 2026 income (YA 2027).

Use your 2026 salary to estimate cash available after the included deductions, then allow for the timing of tax payments and any December bonus.

In this guide

### How to calculate salary after tax in Singapore

Enter your cash salary before deductions. The result estimates income tax and employee CPF for income earned from January to December 2026. That income is assessed in the Year of Assessment 2027.

Choose the age range that applies throughout the year. Then choose how the annual pay is split. The calculator finds employee CPF, subtracts the two included tax reliefs, and applies resident tax bands to the remaining chargeable income. It subtracts CPF and income tax from gross pay to estimate what is left to spend.

### A S$60,000 salary example

This example uses a resident citizen below 55 for the whole year, with S$5,000 paid each month and no bonus. Employee CPF is S$1,000 a month, or S$12,000 a year. Earned Income Relief is S$1,000. Chargeable income is S$47,000.

The first S$20,000 is taxed at zero. Tax on the next S$10,000 is S$200; tax on the next S$10,000 is S$350. The remaining S$7,000 adds S$490. Total income tax is S$1,040.

2026 income, assessed in YA 2027; no other reliefs or deductions.
| Item | Annual amount |
| --- | --- |
| Gross salary | S$60,000.00 |
| Income tax | S$1,040.00 |
| Employee CPF | S$12,000.00 |
| Estimated take-home pay | S$46,960.00 |

This leaves an average S$3,913.33 a month or S$903.08 a week after setting aside income tax. A regular month pays S$4,000 after CPF but before the separate income tax payment and any other payroll deductions.

### Understand the income tax bands

Chargeable income is the amount on which IRAS calculates income tax after deductions and reliefs. The tax bands do not apply directly to your gross salary. This estimate includes compulsory employee CPF Relief and ordinary Earned Income Relief.

The first S$20,000 of chargeable income has a zero rate. Rates then rise through the bands, reaching 24% on income above S$1 million. A higher rate applies only to the part within that band. The effective deduction rate in the result includes both income tax and employee CPF, so it is not the same as your highest income tax rate.

### How employee CPF affects your cash pay

CPF is a savings contribution taken from eligible employees’ wages. The employer also contributes, but that employer share is not subtracted from the cash salary entered here. This calculator covers citizens and permanent residents in their third year or later at full contribution rates.

The employee rate for monthly wages above S$750 is 20% up to age 55, 18% above 55 to 60, 12.5% above 60 to 65, 7.5% above 65 to 70, and 5% above 70. Lower wages use special rules: the employee pays nothing at S$500 or less, then a rising contribution up to S$750. Employee contribution cents are dropped each month.

The calculation applies CPF to at most S$8,000 of Ordinary Wages each month in 2026. Annual wages subject to CPF cannot exceed S$96,000 when pay consists of 12 equal salaries with no bonus. CPF savings are separate from cash available for everyday spending.

### Choose the correct age range

Earned Income Relief reduces chargeable income. The ordinary maximum is S$1,000 below 55, S$6,000 at 55 to 59, and S$8,000 from 60. It cannot exceed your taxable earned income. IRAS uses your age at 31 December of the income year.

CPF uses different age bands. To keep the estimate consistent, use a listed age range only if it applies throughout 2026. The calculator excludes age 55, 60, 65 and 70 and years that cross a listed range. It does not calculate a birthday change within the year. Higher relief for a person with a qualifying disability is also excluded.

### Include a December bonus correctly

The bonus option covers one December bonus equal to one regular monthly salary. Enter the full annual total including that bonus. An annual total of S$65,000 means 12 monthly salaries of S$5,000 plus a S$5,000 bonus. Do not enter S$60,000 and expect the calculator to add a bonus on top.

CPF treats a bonus as an Additional Wage. The annual Additional Wage ceiling is S$102,000 less the year’s Ordinary Wages subject to CPF. At a monthly salary of S$8,000, that leaves S$6,000 of bonus subject to CPF. A larger bonus can still be taxable income even when part of it is above the CPF ceiling.

This option does not cover a different bonus amount, commission pattern or payment month. Obtain a calculation for the actual pay schedule before budgeting for an offer that includes those payments.

### Separate your salary from your tax payment

The net result sets aside the estimated tax on this year’s earnings. It is not a prediction of each bank deposit. CPF reduces monthly cash pay, while your income tax bill is paid separately to IRAS.

IRAS offers GIRO payment in up to 12 monthly instalments or one yearly payment. A provisional instalment plan can use an earlier assessment. Your actual payment plan can differ from one twelfth of the tax estimate. Check the bill and due dates before setting your spending budget.

### Use the monthly estimate for a budget

Begin with average monthly pay after tax and CPF. Subtract your own rent, transport, food, insurance and debt payments. Keep a separate allowance for costs that occur once a year and for cash you want to save.

The December bonus option spreads the bonus across the year in the monthly result. The average does not show your ordinary monthly deposit. Base regular commitments on regular pay and keep the bonus separate until it is paid. Allow for self-help group contributions, union fees or other deductions that appear on your payslip but are excluded here.

### Compare Singapore salary offers

Use the same income year and age range for both offers. Check the bonus terms and whether the annual figure includes employer CPF. Enter cash pay only; keep employer CPF and noncash benefits separate.

Compare the annual amount after the included deductions, then check the timing of payments. An offer with a large year-end bonus can give a different monthly budget from an equal annual salary paid evenly. Use your own housing costs and other expenses for the comparison. This calculator estimates deductions; it does not estimate market pay for a job.

## Questions about salary after tax

### Can a foreign employee use this calculator?

This estimate covers resident Singapore citizens and permanent residents in their third year or later at full CPF rates. A foreign employee without CPF or a non-resident needs a different calculation. Tax residence alone does not establish CPF eligibility.

### Does 2026 mean Year of Assessment 2026?

No. This calculator uses income earned in the 2026 calendar year, assessed in YA 2027. YA 2026 normally refers to income earned in 2025. The CPF wage ceiling and senior rates in this estimate are the rules for 2026 wages.

### Is employer CPF taken from my salary?

The result subtracts the employee CPF share. It does not subtract the employer share from your cash salary. Obtain the cash salary figure before entering an offer that includes employer CPF in its total package.

### Why can my tax bill be lower than the estimate?

You may qualify for reliefs or rebates that are not included here, such as NSman relief, family reliefs or Parenthood Tax Rebate. This estimate includes only ordinary Earned Income Relief and compulsory employee CPF Relief. Other income can also increase the final bill.

### Can I add SRS contributions or voluntary CPF top-ups?

These payments and their tax reliefs are excluded. They can change both the cash you have available and your tax bill. Do not subtract them from gross salary as a shortcut; they have separate rules and limits.

### How do I enter monthly pay with the bonus option?

Use annual entry and include the full bonus in the annual total. Monthly entry needs that annual total divided by 12. The bonus option then splits the annual total into 13 equal amounts. It does not add a bonus to the salary input.

### Why is my payslip different from the monthly result?

The result averages annual income tax and CPF across 12 months. Your payslip can contain other deductions, and your tax is paid separately. A December bonus and the rounding of monthly wages can also cause a difference.

### Can I use this when my age band changes?

No. Choose a range only if you stay within it for the entire income year. The calculator does not split CPF contributions around a birthday. It also excludes age 55, 60, 65 and 70 because those boundary years need a separate check.
