WorldSalaries

Privacy policy

Last updated:

This policy explains what data may be collected when you use WorldSalaries, why it is used and the choices you have.

Calculator entries and salary links

The calculator processes the values you enter in your browser. WorldSalaries does not receive or save those form values.

A link can contain a salary or region in its URL. The website host and advertising providers can receive the full URL when you open it, and your browser may keep it in its history. Do not share a link that contains information you want to keep private.

Data collected when you visit

The website host may record technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device type, requested URL, date and time. This data helps deliver the site, keep it secure and investigate faults.

An email to us includes your email address and the information you choose to send. We use it to answer your message or investigate a reported calculation error. An error report should name the country and tax year, then explain the options and what looks wrong. You can use a round example salary instead of your own salary.

Analytics

WorldSalaries uses Google Analytics 4 and Clicky to measure aggregate traffic and understand how people use the site. Google Analytics 4 provides traffic measurement for Raptive. Clicky provides separate analytics for WorldSalaries.

Google Analytics 4 can collect your browser and device type, approximate location, pages viewed, referring page, interactions, and identifiers such as a client ID. Google processes this data under the Google Privacy Policy.

Clicky can collect page and link details, the referring page, browser data, screen size, language, mouse-event coordinates, and an anonymised IP address. Depending on the privacy settings, it can also use a unique identifier cookie or a full IP address for fraud prevention and security. Read the Clicky Privacy Policy.

Advertising and Raptive

WorldSalaries uses Raptive to manage advertising.

CMI Marketing, Inc., d/b/a Raptive (“Raptive”) is a service provider of this Site for the purposes of placing advertising on the Site, and Raptive collects and uses certain data for advertising purposes. To learn more about Raptive’s data usage, read the Raptive Advertising Privacy Statement.

Raptive and its advertising partners can use cookies, device identifiers, IP addresses, browser and device data, pages viewed and ad interactions to deliver, measure and personalise ads. This activity can count as selling or sharing personal data under some US state laws even when no money is paid for the data.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Analytics and advertising providers can also use pixels and other browser storage. These tools can remember choices and measure traffic or ad performance. Providers can also use them to prevent fraud or select ads based on your activity.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser. Some privacy choices also use a cookie, so deleting cookies can remove that saved choice. Blocking cookies may stop some site or advertising features from working as intended.

Your advertising choices

Read the Raptive Advertising Privacy Statement linked above for advertising data choices and requests to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Raptive's advertising privacy statement explains how it handles Global Privacy Control signals.

You can also use these advertising choices:

How data is shared and kept

The website host processes technical visit data. Google and Clicky process analytics data. Raptive and the partners named in its advertising privacy statement process advertising data. These providers can process data in countries with different privacy laws.

We keep contact messages only as long as needed to answer them, investigate the issue, meet a legal duty or resolve a dispute. Hosting, analytics and advertising providers apply their own retention periods.

We may disclose data when the law requires it, to protect the site or its users, or as part of a sale or transfer of the site.

Your rights

Your rights depend on the privacy law that applies to you. These rights can let you know about, access, correct, delete or restrict the use of personal data. They can also let you object to or opt out of some processing, receive portable data, withdraw consent and complain to a data protection authority.

We can ask for enough information to verify your identity before we act on a request. Raptive explains how to exercise rights for advertising data in its linked statement.

Children

WorldSalaries is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly ask them for personal data. Contact us if you believe a child has sent personal data to this site.

Contact and policy changes

Email support@worldsalaries.com about this policy or your data. You can also use this address to report a calculation error, and you do not need to include your salary.
